Waiting on Wednesday: Paranormal Overload Edition

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

We’re experience a paranormal overload this week. That’s not really a bad thing, is it? Probably not, and even if it is, who cares? LOL Here are the top four on my list this week. We’ve got faeries, bird kids, sexy Dark-Hunters, and, last but not least, vampires. I thought I was burnt out on vampires stories but I couldn’t resist it. You’ll see why.

Nevermore by James Patterson
Maximum Ride Series # 8
Release date: August 6, 2012

I haven’t read the latest books in this series but I’ve heard they’re really good. I’m kinda sad that Patterson is wrapping it up though. I guess we all get that way when a good series comes to an end. Isn’t the cover amazing? I think that it’s the best representation of the series as a whole.

Destined by Aprilynne Pike
Wings Series # 4
Release date: May 1, 2012

I adore this series but I’m also a die-hard fairy lover. LOL Pike’s world-building is phenomenal and her descriptions put you right in the middle of the colorful world the characters call home. It’s simply irresistible.

Time Untime by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Dark-Hunter Series # 22
Release date: August 2, 2012

Dark-Hunters….MMMMM. Kenyon sure knows how to fire a gal up with her Dark-Hunter men. I’m pretty sure I’m addicted to this series, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
Blood of Eden Series # 1
Release date: April 24, 2012

After falling head over heels for the Iron Fey series, adding this one is a no-brainer. Sounds freaking amazing. We all know that Kagawa is definitely going to give us an exciting world with equally exciting characters. Is it April yet?

What fabulous reads are you waiting on this Wednesday?

Book Trailer: Someone Else’s Life by Katie Dale

Someone Else’s Life sounds like a very emotional read. I love books with a real world feel to them so this one is right up my alley. I so need to read more of them. I’ve been stuck on the paranormal so long I’m sure I’ve missed a ton of great titles like this one. Drop a book recommendation in the comments if you have one to share with us.

Someone Else’s Life by Kati Dale

When 17-year-old Rosie’s mother, Trudie, dies from Huntington’s Disease, her pain is intensified by the knowledge that she has a fifty percent chance of inheriting the crippling disease herself. Only when Rosie tells her mother’s best friend, “Aunt Sarah,” that she is going to test for the disease does Sarah, a midwife, reveal that Trudie wasn’t her real mother after all. Rosie was swapped at birth with a sickly baby who was destined to die.
Devastated, Rosie decides to trace her real mother, joining her ex-boyfriend on his gap year travels, to find her birth mother in California. But all does not go as planned. As Rosie discovers yet more of her family’s deeply buried secrets and lies, she is left with an agonizing decision of her own, one which will be the most heart breaking and far-reaching of all.
