Inevitable Reads: Mythology and Dystopian themes
I don’t know about you guys and gals but I really enjoy an enthralling mythology and dystopian tale. When I came across P.J. Hoover‘s Solstice I knew immediately that it was destined for my reading pile. Why, because it blends two of my favorite genres into one intriguing novel. It’s a dream come true for this diehard book addict. LOL.
Piper’s world is dying.
Each day brings hotter temperatures and heat bubbles that threaten to destroy the earth. Amid this global heating crisis, Piper lives under the oppressive rule of her mother, who suffocates her even more than the weather does.
Everything changes on her eighteenth birthday, when her mother is called away on a mysterious errand and Piper seizes her first opportunity for freedom.
Piper discovers a universe she never knew existed—a sphere of gods and monsters—and realizes that her world is not the only one in crisis. While gods battle for control of the Underworld, Piper’s life spirals out of control as she struggles to find the answer to the secret that has been kept from her since birth.
Check out the Book Trailer for Solstice! Oh My Gosh it sounds sooo good. The cover shown in the trailer has been changed to the super awesome one above. Isn’t it freaking gorgeous? I just love all of the colors and the feel of warmth that radiates from it. There’s a long wait for this beauty as it doesn’t release until June 2013 but I’m sure it’s well worth the wait!

Ok, I am so sad. Amazon says it’s out of print and there is no e-book version.
I’ll try the library next time I go. Hope it’s there!
