Cassandra Clare to bring more Shadowhunters

The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare

There’s good news headed your way if you’re a fan of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices because Cassandra Clare recently revealed on her blog that she’s bringing us a new YA series set in the world of the Shadowhunters. The new series will be entitled The Dark Artifices. Keep your excitement in check though because the first book won’t be out until 2015.

Here’s the synopsis from the press release.

Set against the glittering backdrop of present-day Los Angeles, the series follows Emma Carstairs, the fiercest warrior and most skilled young Shadowhunter since Jace Wayland, and Emma’s sworn partner in arms, Julian Blackthorn. Despite Emma’s complicated feelings for Julian, the two must band together to investigate a demonic plot that stretches from the warlock-run nightclubs of the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica.

Cassandra also shared that the new series would give fans a chance to find out what happens in the Shadowhunter world after the events of The Mortal Instruments.

The working title of the first Dark Artifices book is Lady Midnight. It’s still early so that could change before the book hits the shelves but I hope she keeps it because it sounds wicked.

Are you ready for more Shadowhunters action?

Are you Infamous?

I wouldn’t say that I’m infamous but Sherrilyn Kenyon darn sure is. The third installment of the Chronicles of Nick series just released and I’m eager to see what’s in-store for Nick. Kenyon definitely knows how to weave an action-packed tale and create characters with depth and emotion. The Infamous trailer is pretty dang awesome. If Nick isn’t Infamous, this book definitely will be. You can also check out the first two chapters for free.

Cover Reveal: Reached by Ally Condie

Reached by Ally Condie

The cover for Reached by Ally Condie was recently revealed, and I think it’s gorgeous. I love the way all the covers for the series actually represent the story. In Matched, Cassia is perfectly content to sit in her little glass bubble. In Crossed, she starts to break out, and she’s finally free of the bubble on Reached. The first cover was my favorite but I think this one might take the top spot now. I love the way the orange just pops out at you.

Reached is scheduled to be released on November 13, 2012. If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll want to hop over to Entertainment Weekly to see their interview with Ally. Apparently the POV is being changed up again and Reached will be told by Xander, which is fitting when you consider how Crossed ended.
